I found a pretty fun site. Wordle.net takes your site and creates a giant picture out of it resembling a word cloud. It is really fun and if you haven’t, go check it out now with your website!

If you haven’t seen it already, I highly recommend checking out Glen Allsop’s (author of ViperChill) new post on what he likes to call a “Link Trio“.
What is the Link Trio? Think of it as a link wheel but without reciprocating links. I have been using link wheels for a while now and have had tons of success with them. I felt Glen did a pretty good job explaining it and how it works but I felt his picture could have been a little clearer in showing what it is. I felt that the overlapping arrows made it a little confusing. I took the liberty in recreating his diagram for clarity as you can see below.
As you can see, it is an alteration of a link wheel using high authority sites as its spokes.
What is a Link Wheel?
To understand what a link wheel is, we need to understand what a link is and how “link juice” flows. Every webpage on the internet has some level of authority. A brand new site will have virtually no authority (though it does have a little) while a site like Wikipedia will have tons of authority. Authority is determined by a lot of things such as age of the site, amount of content, links pointing to the domain, domain extension, etc.
This authority can be thought of as “link juice”. Think of each webpage being a cup with some water in it. Let us say that a completely full cup represents Wikipedia and a cup with a few drops of water it is a brand new page on a brand new site. If we have a link from one of those sites to our website, then we can think of it as tipping both glasses into our site’s glass. The Wikipedia glass will pour a ton of its link juice into our cup while the link from the brand new site will put virtually no water into our cup. Now that our site has been filled up a little by Wikipedia, WE now have quite a bit of link juice (page authority).
Now that you are thirsty but have a better idea of what links are, let’s talk about what a link wheel is! A link wheel looks like the diagram above where high authority sites are used to link to our sites. These high authority sites are our “spokes” on our link wheel (think of a bicycle wheel). Looking at the diagram above, if we just had the Ezine article pointing to our site, then that would have been one transfer of link juice to our site. It is a good start…. but we can do better!
We also point the Ezine article to our Go Article. The Go Article then points to our site and then again to our Squidoo lens. As you can see, each spoke transfers link juice to our site AND transfers some of its juice to our other spokes. What this does is compound our link juice throughout our network and then focuses it back into our site supercharging our sites link juice and authority! Smart, huh?
So Why Don’t We Reciprocate the Links on Each Site?
If our website had a link to our Ezine article and our Ezine article pointed a link back to our website, this would be called a reciprocating link. Google devalues these links because if they didn’t, there would be an infinite loop of link juice transferring. Google thinks of authority as a lot of sites talking about one specific site, not all the sites talking about each other.
What this means for us is that we need to “trick” Google’s algorithm to get the same link juices flowing. In Glen’s Link Trio, he has all the webpages pointing to two other webpages, but none of those webpages is pointing back to a webpage that is pointing to it. That might sound a little confusing but look at the diagram. None of the sites point to each other. It is jut a one way street with every link.
Link Wheels and Link Trios Are Awesome! Tell Me More!
Yes, they are awesome and it DOES really help rankings. What it doesn’t do is provide an easy solution for ranking things. Google does not like that we are capable of tricking their algorithm into having non-reciprocating link wheels. Google is now able to recognize simple patterns of link wheels and link trios and they devalue them a little. When link wheels first started, they were really ranking sites well, but since Google has cracked down on them a bit, they aren’t nearly as effective.
To keep a lot of the effectiveness, you will have to create a linking structure that is hard to detect (has less symmetry and less of a pattern). You are going to want to have link wheels that don’t fully close or loop. You will want some spokes getting five inbound links while some getting only one or zero. Make it as unique and non-symmetrical as possible for the best results.
What Sites Should I Use For My Link Wheel or Link Trio?
The short answer is we want to use a mix of different Web 2.0 sites and high authority sites. If you look at Pat Flynn’s great post on his backlinking strategy, you can see he uses a Link Wheel himself. He uses blogs, article directories, Web 2.0 sites and another technique which gives him tons of backlinks to his spokes. Mass produced links pointing to link wheel and link trio spokes turbo charge the link juice that is circulated. I personally prefer ScrapeBox but to each their own. Any of those options will work.
I was going to post a bunch of Web 2.0 sites to use for your link trio but I found a solid list of sites here. Just be sure to see if the outbound links are dofollow on these Web 2.0 sites and you should be good!
I’m curious to see: who else has had a good or bad experience with link wheels and link trios in the past? Please post any experiences, thoughts, or ideas in the comments below!

My parents hate poker and as of right now, do not know that I play for a living.
That is about to change. I just emailed my Dad so he will get an email in the morning while at work. I’m pretty anxious right now but am hoping things will be fine.
So this post is not two paragraphs long, I will update you guys on my month so far.
EV wise, I should be at +$400 but I have been running bad so I am -$133 for the month so far. I have been running really bad the last few months but my play has also been bad. I’m taking it seriously now and have improved quite a bit since getting help from my friend who is a $100/200NL regular.
I took a $50NL shot yesterday and got slaughtered. I ran two buyins below EV in that session but also spewed off 250bbs in a pot w/ air vs a full house. It was the first time I have made a big spew in months. I am not happy with my play but I learned from it. I have been doing well ever since and just finished a +$200 session at $25NL in 90 minutes. Hopefully things keep going up from here!
I’ll close this post off with the biggest loss of the month so far. It is the spew hand mentioned above. It is the first time spewing in months but there is something to learn from it. I like my play up until the river. When the guy leads into me, he has a hand he wants to get value from and he is not capable of folding ever.

The Bieber fever landed itself on the Ellen Degeneres Show recently. Love him or hate him, you have to admit he is a media black hole. Nothing can escape him.
Check out the video of Justin Bieber on the Ellen Degeneres Show below. The whole crowd erupts at the sight of him. He really knows how to cater to his audience — running up and down the audience section, signing his book for Ellen, and dancing with his fans. He hugs a few girls and you can imagine how much that means for them. They probably go home and each tell 20 of their friends and each of those friends tells another 10 people. You can only begin to imagine how popular this kid is.
I’m not a big fan of his music, but I really appreciate a good marketer and PR/media stirrer when I see one.

Over the last few months, there has been a lot of controversy over LeBron’s move from Cleveland to the Miami Heat. There was an all out media war trying to get LeBron to their city. This guy is a slam dunking ATM machine! I don’t blame him for wanting to move to Miami. It makes sense if he ever wants to win a championship. He doesn’t want to be the next Carl Malone who is a multiple time All Star that never wins championships.
As you can imagine, LeBron James moved to Miami to win some rings. Cleveland fans got butt hurt and started flaming him in the media (along with all the cities that never got Lebron James). This is LeBron’s response in an ad by Nike:
I love this ad! He is not only defending himself and his decision, but he is creating a stir around him in the media. He is creating tribes of people who “love LeBron” and tribes of people who “hate LeBron”. No one is in between. Of course whenever he plays, the stadium will be packed with lovers and haters.
This is so smart. He has created a polarized brand of himself that will just increase his value. I mean, he is getting Nike commercials that are over a minute long not talking about basketball (which he is famous for), but for controversy he is creating. I’m pretty sure his name will be all over the media this year nation wide up until the playoffs and maybe even the championships. He is a media machine and I think he knows what he is doing with his career.
I’m not a lover or a hater but more of an admirer of his PR tactics. On the other hand, the Cleveland fans fit into the hater crowd. You can bet that they will pack the stadium when LeBron comes back to town to play against Cleveland. There will probably be anti-LeBron T-shirts and signs. It will be a big marketing event against LeBron.
In a response ad, Cleveland fans had this to say about LeBron’s Nike ad:
Love him or hate him, you have to admit LeBron is a cash machine and PR giant. LeBron and the NBA will be making millions off of this controversy for years! As for Cleveland, this is what the rest of the country will think about them:

I’m afraid I have some bad news. I blasted my site with SERP Assist, Scrapebox, and SENuke and have got my site “sandboxed”. No worries though! I know exactly what happened, what I did wrong, and what I can do better.
What Happened?
Well I ended up paying for SERP Assist for the month. I set up a really big and intricate backlinking plan as you can see from my previous post, but for some reason, it only made about half the pages and the rest were “pending” for the whole month.
I’m not quite sure what happened there but I decided to move on. Also, I checked a lot of my backlinks from my ScrapeBox master list and sure enough, most of them were nofollow. Not good! I want auto-approve AND dofollow!
What I Did Wrong
First and foremost, I’ve been busy/lazy. Spent some time with the family and traveling for a week. The rest of the time, I’ve been playing poker and watching the World Series. Translation: hardly any work is getting done.
On top of that, I ScrapeBoxed my main site. That isn’t bad in of itself, but what it does do is make the rankings volatile at the beginning especially for a new domain. Bad idea :/
What I’m Doing Better Now
I have spent the last three hours or so with ScrapeBox manually finding quality links. I have found one (possibly two) .edu blogs that I can post on (yes my very own .edu domain…. not just a page on a .edu domain) and I have found 20 PR 2 through PR 7 highly indexed main domains. What I plan to do with the 20 domains is to ScrapeBox their sitemaps to find all their pages, organize them by PR, then point them all to my main profile page which ultimately leads back to my site. Confused? Don’t worry! I will elaborate further down the page.
Changing My Micro Niche Site’s Content
I’ve been reminded by Vinay (of the Abstract Living blog) and Pat Flynn (of the Smart Passive Income Blog) that Google LOVES multiple types of media for its search results. My new approach is to add video to my pages to get them indexed high in the SERPs. I feel confident that video can help tremendously because video has very little competition.
Another change I’m going to do is create a bunch of Web 2.0 pages pointing back to my site. This should help solidify my site in Google’s eyes, pull my site out of the sandbox, and get my site some high Page Authority backlinks. As you can see with Open Site Explorer, my site is doing really bad with Domain Authority so this should bring it up a few points to a competitive score. Another important part to my Web 2.0 backlinks is that I’m going to be submitting lots of spun articles to different article directories every day. This also includes one press release a week. This web 2.0 nuking should get my site out of the sandbox and ranked very well with my backlinks that already exist.
The last thing that I’m going to do is create high PR profile backlinks. This isn’t your average method. In fact, I’m not even sure I should release it. Let me sleep on it and if I’m feeling generous, I’ll share something big with you guys.

As you can see by the graph below, my PLO venture isn’t quite going how I would like. I started playing the $10PLO rush games and $5PLO normal games. They seem pretty soft and people do a lot of stupid stuff. I can tell there is a lot of money to be made at these stakes.
Over the last 13,553 hands, I am down -$164.09 and my EV is at -$59.19. Obviously I’m running a little bad but I feel that I too am also pretty bad lol. I feel that my biggest losing hands are lost because I’m getting my money in light (35%-45% dog most of the time) and my starting hand ranges need major work. When I go all in, I do have very strong hands, they just aren’t the nuts. Here is an example:

I reviewed this hand and felt it was pretty standard to get this hand in. Thinking about his entire range of hands he could have, I think is a little better than a coin flip for me. The thing that I’m noticing though is that when donks are shoveling money into the pot, it is usually with the stone cold nuts. I don’t see a lot of semi-bluffing with wraps and stuff so I’m not really sure if my hand range assessment for my opponent is correct. Assuming I put him on a set, I think flat calling is bad because turn cards will either be bad for me and I have to fold or will be good but will kill the action.
All this week, I have been watching countless Deuces Cracked videos and have started reading “The PLO Book” by Tri Nguyen. So far the book is awesome and I highly recommend it even for the $200 price tag! Since I’m on a downswing and running 10.5 buyins below EV in 10k hands, my goals are to finish a lot of the learning material that I have started with PLO. I feel that I could eliminate a majority of my leaks by just hand selection and then i can capitalize on it with some postflop strategy with strong but not nutted hands.
The good news about this last week was that I contributed about $300 in rake. Full Tilt just changed their rake structure to something like 22% rakeback now so I should be seeing >$60 on Friday. Not bad making over 6 buyins for just playing 13,000 hands

Some of you guys are starting to get some traffic to your site or have already been getting good traffic to your site but have been wondering the big question: how do you make money online?
There is some good news and some bad news. The good news is that there is a super easy way for webmasters to make some solid cash each month. The bad news is that it generally takes forever to get accepted into the program. That program is of course Adsense.
Adsense is Googles advertising network where advertisers pay for targeted links on publishers content. You, being a publisher, put the Adsense code onto your website and whenever someone clicks on the links, you get paid! You do not have to worry about it converting on the backend or how long the user stays on the site. All you get paid for is them clicking. How easy is that?
Normally people have to create a brand new site or get their current site up and looking professional, but I’m going to show you a way to get your Adsense account before them. Google is partnered with a site called DocStoc where users can post documents online. Since they have tons of users and tons of content, they make it really easy for you to get an Adsense account so you can start making money with them fast!
All you have to do is sign up at DocStoc and within a few hours you should have your account!
Happy blogging!

I just found this WordPress plugin today. I’ve heard of it in the past but for some reason forgot to use it on my new micro niche site. It is called SEO Smart Links.
What SEO Smart Links does is searches your posts for specific words. Once it finds those words, it makes it into a hyperlink to a webpage of your choice. This is good for two reasons:
- Internal SEO wise, you will have tons of internal links. Your site will have healthy circulation and your link juice will flow better through all of your pages.
- Affiliate marketing wise, you can load up a certain word, phrase, or product name to always point to your affiliate offer. This will save you hours on manually throwing up links on your pages.
This is why I’m emphasizing having an autoblog on my micro niche site and NOT having my micro niche site be an autoblog. I can create really good content as my “money” pages then have a separate “blog” section which will automatically be updated with quality content from across the internet. Once or twice a day, I get a new page on my site that can link to affiliate products AND point back to my money page with correct URL anchor text!
Here is SEO Smart Links list of benefits as listed on their site:
- Find keywords in your posts, pages and comments and link them to your other posts, pages, categories and tags
- Full control with customizable options
- Ignore list for keywords you do not want to link
- Improves your site’s interlinking
- Control external links with custom keywords
- Add nofollw attribute or open links in new window
- Caching for speed
Use this plugin as described and resubmit your sitemap to the search engines. Hopefully this extra link juice can boost you up the rankings a bit
Happy Blogging!
